Microsoft announced it during Ignite, the Teams client will soon allow the size of the main Teams window, chat window and meeting scene to be reduced to 360px or 502px wide, against the current minimum dimensions of 720px wide, with no loss of functionality. This change will be extended to the rest of Teams when it is released for general availability.
Update details
In addition to the reduction in window size, users will be able to adjust the width of Teams side panels according to their preferences. This update improves accessibility, creates new multitasking opportunities, supports efficient window management on Windows 11 and macOS desktops, and offers better zoom capabilities for visually impaired users when scrolling within a dimension.
Application
This update applies to Teams desktop clients on Windows and Mac.
Availability
Deployment will start at the end of January 2025 and should be completed by mid-February 2025.
