Microsoft recently announced support for external cameras for iPad users. Indeed, many professionals and executives prefer to use iPads for their portability and autonomy. However, when it comes to videoconferencing, users often prefer external cameras for their superior resolution, dynamic range and the ability to adjust angles and lighting to suit different environments. This is now possible with iPads.
Prerequisites
All you need is your iPad running iOS 17 and the latest Microsoft Teams app installed via the App Store. Teams will now be able to easily leverage the capabilities of USB-C connected cameras for higher quality video conferencing.
Note: Currently, there are no native or Microsoft Teams controls for switching between the iPad’s built-in camera and an external camera. Teams will therefore default to using the external camera when plugged in. Most USB-C compatible cameras are supported, giving users a wide range of options to find the device that best suits their needs.
