Microsoft’s vision has always been to try as hard as possible to bring all communication and collaboration tools together in one place in their Microsoft Teams platform. Today, we can already have instant messaging correspondence, track our meetings online, collaborate on documents and through a third-party application. Today, Microsoft is bringing us a native payment application in Microsoft Teams! This way, you can get paid for remote service appointments such as a medical consultation or a webinar. You will be able to collect payment online from the start of your online meeting.
The new payments app, currently in public pre-release in the Teams store, allows small businesses in the U.S. and Canada to easily manage and collect payments from Teams on your desktop or mobile device during a meeting.
Microsoft has partnered with some of the biggest players in the payments industry ( GoDaddy, PayPal and Stripe) to combine the core collaboration features of Teams with powerful commerce capabilities in the first app of its kind that lets you accept payments during business conversations.
How does the application work?
Once the Payments app is set up and you have established a connection link with your GoDaddy Payments, PayPal and Stripe accounts, you can send a payment request to your customers during a meeting with a few clicks.
In turn, your customers can pay you using their credit or debit card, digital wallet, etc.
The Payments app is available as a public pre-release in the Microsoft Teams store for Teams Essentials and Microsoft 365 Business subscribers at no charge. Stripe and PayPal are both available today in the app, GoDaddy Payments is coming soon!
