Microsoft Teams rooms on Windows devices eligible to upgrade to Windows 11 will receive Windows 11 22H2 in May 2023<\/strong>. This will be offered and installed on devices with version 4.16 dot (a newer version than 4.16.40.0 currently available)<\/em>. Devices that are not eligible due to an incompatible processor will continue to use Windows 10 according to the Windows Hardware Support Policy. These devices will be offered the Windows 10 22H2 version.<\/p>\n

In addition, Teams Rooms on Windows OEMs will move their manufacturing to Windows 11 IoT Enterprise as the end of license sales for Windows 10 IoT Enterprise are fast approaching (10\/14\/2023)<\/i>. OEMs with existing Windows 10 licensing inventory (or supporting recovery media for existing Windows 10 devices) may continue to provide Windows 10 images for a period of time that should automatically be upgraded to Windows 11 after setup. All OEMs are expected to move to Windows 11 IoT Enterprise-based images in the future. Customers should ensure that all new hardware purchases check for Windows 11 compatibility to future-proof their investment in the devices.<\/p>\n

When will this happen?<\/h4>\n

Microsoft will begin deployment \n early May<\/strong>\n<\/span> and expects to complete by \n end of May<\/strong>\n<\/span>.<\/p>\n

How will this affect your organization?<\/h4>\n

Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows version 4.16.XX.X (a dot version, in addition to the current version 4.16.40.0)<\/em> will be available in May 2023<\/strong>. This application will allow eligible Teams rooms on Windows devices to receive the Windows 11 22H2<\/strong> update via Windows Update. Once the Teams application has been updated and started normally at least once, customers will have to wait 8 days<\/strong> for Windows 11 22H2 to install automatically, or manually extract the latest Windows 11 update from Windows Updates by searching for updates from the Windows Settings application. Devices that are not eligible will be offered the Windows 10 22H2 version.<\/p>\n

How do you prepare?<\/h4>\n

To ensure that there are no problems preventing Windows updates in your environment, we recommend that you manually check for updates on a small set of devices, once the activated version 4.16.XX.X<\/strong> for Windows 11 has been installed and booted normally on them at least once. From the administrator mode, check for updates using the Windows Settings application: Windows 11 22H2 or Windows 10 22H2 (depending on what is supported for your devices) should be offered and should be downloaded and installed. If updates are not offered or installed, look for external policies (such as MDM or Active Directory group policies) that may be in place for your organization that could block this update.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
